If you really have a guru you don't need to tie your horse because you are supposed not to have attachement to anything including the horse, now you are in a full surrender to the guru. The guru himself is not important, only the process in you, the surrender. The guru is just a representation, he can be anyone, he is of no significance.
He who created in the beginning the cosmic being and delivered to him the Vedas[the treasury of spiritual Knowledge], Who is partless, flawless, stainless, immutable and tranquil, who is sublime bridge for reaching immortality, and resembles fire consuming fuel[as the destroyer of ignorance],to that effulgent Being, the Revealer of Self-Knowledge, I, a seeker of liberation, resort for refuge.
The Flow between Love and Wisdom.
Love says "I am everything". Wisdom says "I am nothing". Between the two, my life flows. ~ Sri Nisargadatta Maharaj
