When talking to others, remember both yourself and the other at the same time. Divide not. Be both yourself and the other.

Gurdjieff

The first part is exactly the "Remembering yourself" technique of Gurdjieff. Not only while talking but in any action that involves an object (which are all actions, ultimately). The attention is drawn not only to the object but to the subject as well in the same time - to both sides of the arrow of action as Ouspensky depicts it. It is a very powerful technique and must be practiced always and continually, very difficult in the beginning as you immediately tend to forget it and dive into unconsciousness and then at some point wake up and realize that you haven't observed it for a while.

To be both yourself and the other, on the other hand, is a bit artificial and involves intellect. I think staying with the first part is more effective as it is natural being mere observation without conflict.
