Is Guru necessary in the path of enlightenment?

Sai Ram. Yes, a guru is needed since a lamp cannot light itself! But a living Guru is not needed since Gurus like Sai Baba and Sri Raghavendra Swami are active even now though they may have left their physical body behind. They will arrange for a physical living Guru if needed at the right time.

Blessings.

Similar discussion is open

Similar discussion is open in other portals also. One user is even conducting a survey(on gurus and their following).Guru is a must in the pursuit of god.He is the torch bearer to see the unknown.Whether we need a guru in human form or spiritual form depends on our sadhana. To sight an example, a student of 1st grade needs a teacher who will guide him by catching his finger where as a research scholar needs only a guide, who only advises on his work.Sadhana is not limited to one birth,if sadhana started in previous births the sadhaka inclines to sadhana at an early age and achives his goal earlier before his death.Same is told by geetha charya srikrishna in bhagavad geetha

YES,WHY NOT

GURU IS MAIN NECESSITY IF SOMEONE DESIRES ENLIGHTENMENT.GURU IS A LAMP WHO CAN LIT UP OTHER LAMPS(SHISHYAS).LIGHT COMES FROM LIGHT.GURU IS LIGHT,KNOWLEDGE,BLISS AND ALSO GURU IS A TRODDEN PATH.NOW,DISCIPLE HAS TO TREAD THIS PATH WHICH IS ALSO CALLED ROAD TO SALVATION.

YOGA JNANA SITTHAR OM SRI RAJAYOGA GURU SARANAM

There are many ways to meditate as stated in books and such, but I believe one needs a true Guru/master who has perfected the meditation techniques and is capable of empowering/initiating someone. I've met a Guru.....YOGA JNANA SITTHAR OM SRI RAJAYOGA GURU.

His Divine Grace is A sitthar on earth right now who is helping common people like us by initiating/ empowering us.Sitthars are capable of doing absolutely anything. These beings are able to transform themselves into a mountain/ change into an atom/ materialise things from thin air/ walk on water etc - anything at all.

His Divine Grace (HDG) Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga Guru had an inherent thirst to realise God from a very young age. Over the early years HDG exhibited Divine Powers and special abilities obtained through various Divine experiences.

Realising the necessity of a Guru to progress spiritually, HDG searched for a genuine Guru. But this was an arduous task as the gurus made use of HDG special abilities for their own benefit. In this way, the false gurus got fame and good name at the expense of our Guru.

Being very disheartened, HDG started to pray steadfastly alone. Subsequently, this led to amazing meetings with true Gurus who passed on japas and mantras of God realisation to HDG.

HDG Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga spent over twenty seven years researching fully understanding the the secrets of Rajayoga. By japas, penances and prayers, our Guru obtained many Divine Visions. HDG wanted all people to obtain the benefits of Yogic Power, Initially, Now, as arranged by the disciples, HDG is empowering everyone with the Yoga Power. Now, our Guru, fondly known as Dato Seri Guruji, has more than a hundred thousand disciples from Malaysia and all over the world, who are living a healthy, successful and protected life

His Divine Grace Yoga Jnana Sitthar Om Sri Rajayoga Guru exhibits true leadership by example, by virtue of being a highly attained spiritual master as well as being a scientist, having obtained a Philosophical Doctorate in Metaphysics and Parapsychology. His Divine Grace has also been acknowledged as the “Mahaguru of Malaysia” in the highly acclaimed book “Malaysia’s Who’s Who” (Year 2007 Volume 1 page 506). Hence, His Divine Grace is very successful in all aspects, be it spirituality, education, wealth or family life. His Divine Grace is a living example of how one can be successful simultaneously both in worldly and spiritual life using the Divine Power called Yogasakhti. His Divine Grace is indeed a great inspiration for all disciples to progress and become great achievers in life.

The greatest danger on the spiritual path is self-deception. The student can deceive or hypnotise himself into believing anything. I have heard people talking about ‘the oneness of all things’ after reading just one book. They start to believe that they know! It is so hard to tell them that spirituality starts where words end. Spirituality is not about intellectual but energetic transformation.

A lot of patience, persistence and grace are required. Even ‘senior’ meditators can fall into this trap of false knowing. They are so eager to finish their journey quickly and become gurus that they fool themselves. That is why a guide or a guru is so important. Only a being who is more evolved can see where the lesser evolved being is stuck. You need the presence of a person who can see more than you, further than you, more clearly than you.

Unfortunately, even though the master sees and shares, it is not certain that his message will be received. The master’s work is subtle and complex. But what makes his impossible work possible is that he is not doing anything! He is no longer the ‘doer’. He is simply a ‘catalytic agent’ in whose presence miraculous and mysterious events just happen.

The guru alone cannot do anything. It is the disciple’s thirst, his passion for truth, his dogged determination, and above all his trust in his master that makes the magic happen. All said and done, if you are lucky enough to find a living master, stick with him! It seems it is far better if the disciple maintains some distance between himself and the master.

That definitely has its advantages. When you see the master from a distance, sitting on a podium and giving a talk, the relationship between a master and disciple remains clear. The disciple finds it easier to retain his sense of love and respect. The other way is far more dangerous, almost like walking on a tightrope at all times. The journey gets far more intense, but probably faster as well. When the master offers his physical proximity to you, at some level he has seen you worthy of the challenge. Spending so much time in the presence of the master is a huge blessing. It is like ‘spiritual sunbathing’ - it is an invisible and mysterious process of energy transmission that has the capacity to transform your life. This is because his presence is a powerful healing force, a continuous wake-up call.

Here again, the disciple has to be careful. It is quite easy to fall ‘asleep’, and start taking things for granted. The disciple, instead of feeling grateful, starts feeling special and superior, and his ego becomes bigger than Mt Everest!
At that time, you can be sure that an existential ‘kick’ is on its way. It is nature’s way of bringing you back to reality, showing you your true place.

So when you get a chance to be physically close to a master, be thankful. Make sure you thank God and the guru for giving you the chance. And pray for the wisdom and the humility to remain worthy of this divine relationship. For at the end of your life, this is probably the one relationship that will have made all the difference.

The next yogic power empowerment session is on the 7th August 2011 in Putra World Trade Centre, Kuala Lumpur.

Oh! My GOD... (OMG)..

Hi rvin6...

Some more from the Tamil Diaspora, aspiring to conquer the WEST... with Magic??

From the site of your Guru: (watch for sound trickery!)

Guru is the creator Brahma
Guru is the preserver Vishnu
Guru is the destroyer Shiva
Guru is directly the supreme spirit
I offer my salutations to this Guru

I give your guru a little test:

What is the name of my dog?
What is the name of my mother?

For such a powerful mystic and magician, a "siddhar", who claims to controls SPACE and TIME, it should be a simple thing ...

Are they (the Guru and his wife) related to Jimmy and Tammy Faye Baker, the Western Televangelists??

Is Guru is necessary in the path of Elightment

If any one wish to learn any thing, some guidance, supervision and control and sharing of their experience is required for systematic study and growth in right direction. If we would
like to learn spiritual enlightenment than we must require some
perfect and correct and experience and true Guru who is going to assist in each and every aspect to learn spirituality.

Spirituality/Enlightenment cannot be achieved with guidance of Guru.

Spiritualism is not Spirituality .. and vice versa!!

Spiritualism (Where a "spirit" of a dead person is in contact with a "medium" or a "guru") is not SPIRITUALITY, as in the Eightfold path of Patanjali... Raja Yoga is simply a list of what to do to be a "good person". It is a "golden rule" and everyone can adhere to such "rules" without the help of anyone...

Anyone can even write such a list of "how to be a good person" himself...

Spiritualism is a SCAM to milk the gullible of their money...

Spirituality, if it exists at all, would be a higher level of REALITY, beyond matter, plasma, energy, etc... Show that "spirituality" or be a merchant fantasies and "spirits".... don't follow "godmen" and witch doctors and their "spells" and "curses"...

To confuse the two is what is happening in the spiritualist marketplace on Asia ... We have the same abuse going on with the Christian televangelists of the west, who sell their "miracle water", blessed "stones", amulets, statues, iconography, etc ... It is the sale of miracles and magic... It is not SPIRITUALITY. IT is Spiritualism!!

Get up off your knees and face REALITY as a man... not as a sheep...

Guru Is A Must

Dubious is all one's knowledge
If a Guru one doesn't acknowledge.
