Lost her faith in Jesus

Nowadays we know that in Mother Theresa's last decades of life, she lost her faith and belief. She used to write about it secretly to her priest friend and asked specifically that these letters will be kept secret forever. But he published them after her death.

I marked this opinion as "con" not because she lost her faith. This was beyond her control and despite this she continued in her efforts to help others - for this she deserves a big "pro".

I marked this opinion as "con" because she handled badly this lose of faith. Instead of accepting the new situation, instead of not resisting her mind's unwillingness to trust Jesus, she struggled and fought and resisted this disbelief. By this resistance she was only strengthening the disbelief and assuring that it won't go. As we all know, when disbelief dawns, you need to respect it, to watch it, not to condemn it and then you notice that it melts away.

She didn't do so, she failed badly in that major test as do many Christians and followers of the other monotheistic religions.

can the faith be tested?

Of course, like any other

Of course, like any other mental disposition.

Re: Lost her faith in Jesus

I visited the link and found out the truth.
It is very difficult to realize or reach God.
It seems He was not satisfied by her works of charity. But she was rewarded for her works here.
It may be learnt that those who boast of doing charity works and serving depressed people cannot satisfy or serve God.
