Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov was a Bulgarian spiritual master born in Macedonia. He came to France in 1937 where he gave since then most of his teachings.

He was Born on January 31, 1900 in Serbtzy in Macedonia. In 1917 he firstly met his master, Master Peter Deunov in Varna, Bulgaria. After his university studies in Sofia, he began teaching, first as an instructor than as professor and from 1934 he was a college director.

Disciple of Master Peter Deunov

In parallel to his professional career, he followed steadfastly the teaching of Master Peter Deunov, which was for him a vast field of exploration and experiences.

Peter Deunov was a Bulgarian spiritual teacher who breathed a new life to the traditional christian doctrines. At the beginning of the 20th century, he founded the White Brotherhood spiritual movement in Bulgaria. In 1937, the Master Peter Deunov was surrounded by ten of thousands disciples around him. Foreseeing the political turmoil and the persecutions affecting his country and challenging the White Brotherhood, he chose Mikhael Aivnahov to bring his teaching to France and to the world.

India & Neem Karoli Baba

In 1959, Mikhael Aivanhov went traveling to India. There he met the famous yogi Neem Karoli Baba who gave him the name Omraam.

Aivanhov explained his initiatic name as follows:

Thus the name I was given in India, OMRAAM, corresponds to the two processes of “Solve” and “Coagula”: OM dissolves all things, rendering them suble and fine, and Raam materializes them. The name OMRAAM is the symbol of the process of concretization, the invisible, intangible idea that must incarnate on earth so that it can be seen and touched by the whole world.

Later Years

In the subsequent years and until he left this world on December 25, 1986, Master Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov developed the teaching of the Universal White Brotherhood, giving more than 5000 lectures in France and in many other countries. His works (44 pocketbooks and 32 complete works) are based on his lectures.

According to Aivanhov’s view everybody, regardless of race, religion, social position, intellectual ability or material means, is able to take part in the realization of a new period of brotherhood and peace on earth.

Through more than 5000 lectures Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov explores the human nature in its environment whether it is in a personal, family, social or planetary context.

The one whom we call Master, in the oriental meaning of the word referring to the personal mastery and teaching ability, tells us:

What I wish through this teaching is to give you some notions on life, on yourself, how you are structured, what relations you entertain with the universe as a whole and what kind of exchanges you must have between yourselves and the universe which is Life.

His main objective is to help human beings to recapture their spiritual essence (which he refers to as their superior or divine nature), to perfect, strengthen themselves and to blossom in the heart of their activities.

Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov further says:

I have always concentrated my efforts to shed light on one subject in particular: the two natures within people, their superior nature and their inferior nature, because this is the key that holds the solution to all problems.

Yet, the inner, individual work, encompasses in a wider, more universal scope: it opens the consciousness to the fact that we are citizens of the cosmos, members of the great human family, the universal brotherhood, sons and daughters of the same creator. And moreover still, the teaching of the Master Omraam Mikhael Aivanhov invites us to participate to the realization of a new golden age on earth.
