Biography

Don Marcial was a uniquely experienced and potent Shipibo curandero (healer) from the area of Pucallpa in eastern Peru. Pucallpa is located on the banks of the Ucayali River, a major tributary of the Amazon River.

Part of the rare uniqueness of Don Marcial was that he masters different branches of curandero medicine, he is ayahuasquero, vegetalista, palista and more.

He was taught the art of healing by his grandfather who was also a prominent cuarndero in the Shipibo tradition. Don Marcial dieted 105 different jungle plants during his life, having his first diet at the age of 12.

Despite his powers and abilities, he was a very modest and easy going person.

He spoke Spanish, his own Shipibo language, plus three other indigenous languages.

Don Marcial conducted Ayahuasca ceremonies and provideed medicine plant diets.

In 2013, a controversy arose over a report of a woman who claimed improper acts made by Don Marcial. Though the claims were never verfied' some of his followers left him.

Don Marcial was shot dead by a gunman in a street in Pucallpa in September 2015.

Teachings

Very little verbal teaching is necessary when embarking on the path of Ayahuasca and the plant spirits. All the teaching is provided by the Ayahuasca and the other plant spirits during the ceremonies and the diets.
