He was born to punya dampathulu late sri Chaganti Sundara Siva Rao garu and late smt Suseelamma.

Married with two children, he is working in Food Corporation of India, Kakinada.

He is a silent reader of puranas and is giving pravachanams on puranams extempore. He is claimed to have a spectacular command in spiritual pravachanams on various purnanas and mythologies like Srimad Ramayanam Bhagavatham Soundaryalahari, Lalithasahasranama strotram and others.

He has delivered discourses for 42 days continuously at Kakinada on sampoorna ramayanam during 2005 and Bhagavatham for 42 days during 2006, and 30 days on sivamahapuranam during 2007. In addition he gave numerous pravachanams through out the country.

Chaganti Koteswara Rao suggests not to read the Ramayana, the Great epic of India, with a view that Rama is a God. Instead, he encourages to read it as if a person by name Rama lived and showed us the way as to how we have to live.

He argues that the effect of hearing or reading the Ramayana would be left within ourselves and slowly self-enquiry will start within us.

According to Chaganti Koteswara Rao, in order to understad any Purana of India, first one should know how to read the Ramayana. After reading the Ramayana, we can then understand other texts such as the Siva Puranam, Bhagavatam, and others.
