There is no purpose and nothing to be sought - these motives you can find in business, not in spirituality.
No purpose
The most that can be said is that spirituality is the means and the end. It is an internal urge (that not everybody has) like the urge to love and eat about which you don't tend to inquire reasons but just follow your instincts.
