There are several good

There are several good teachers that frequent Goa during the season (it depends when you are planning to be there).

In Goa you can find Mooji during the season (when he is not there, he is usually in Tiruvanamalai in the south). Mooji is a charming compassionate teacher.

Specifically in Arambol, I encountered a german lady called Neeru who gives intensive satsangs. I didn't participate so I can't tell. I heard that last year she moved to Mandrem (a small village 2km south of Arambol)

The best is to check for ads in restaurants and guest houses when you are there.

Nobody to search

When the student is ready, the teacher appears. There's no need to go looking at all unless that adds a fun dramatic flavor to the imaginary search for what's already here. You're not running the show but the show is being created perfectly. Ultimately, the only guru you need is within yourself. Maybe once you finally locate your teacher, he'll tell you that. Hehe.

On what do you base this theory?

On what do you base this theory?

If it is spiritual teachers that use to say so, they use to say all sorts of things...

Anyway, I don't think the conclusion from this statement is to stay at home and wait.

I think anyone who ever traveled to India on spiritual journey can testify that the advancement he/she made during that journey has no parallel.

As this statement does not come from my own direct experience and as neither of us have any clue about how it really works, I prefer to make all possible effort to look for more wisdom and gurus.

Gurus are dream characters

It's not a theory. I see it from the tops of the trees while clinging onto the skinny branches and dangling in the breeze. Hehe.

Any pilgrimage to India has likely borne fruit in some way because that was what was supposed to happen. We know that it was supposed to happen because it happened, not because you decided it should happen. Climbing the mountaintop in search of wisdom is a symbolic expression of your devotion. It is your devotion which bears fruit, not your actions or the wisdom of the guru. The guru is you. You carry him with you on your pilgrimage to see the guru. When you meet him he will tell you, you are what I AM.

Here's another theory that is not a theory; not only is the guru within you, the entire universe is within you, being expressed outwardly in each moment. You step through your own dreamscape and you believe you are moving somewhere. You write a story of wisdom and gurus and you play it out in your dream and you imagine you are learning something from your dream characters. What do you need to know to be what you already are, and who can teach you how to be that?

If these gurus have the key to ending your suffering, why are they not shouting it from the rooftops, broadcasting it worldwide? Why are they not banging on your door to save you out of compassion for their own suffering selves? Because they know that your willingness to see the Truth is the same as seeing it, and they have no tricks to bring about that willingness. The guru is playing the same game you are, playing their role in the dream that you call life. The difference is that they know it and you do not.

If you believe the dream is not unfolding as it should and you have the power to avoid your guru or alter your own dream, then the lesson your guru is helping you with now is to reveal that ignorance for what it is.

Begging the question

Concluding that something had to happen because it happened based on the assumption that things that have to happen will happen is called "Petitio Principii" or "begging the question" which is a logical fallacy of assuming the conclusion in the premises.

It is just a theory, a blief. We cannot establish this claim as we don't even know what "had to happen" means at all so how can we discuss preordainment.

Demonic confirmation

I was mistaken about there not being a devil. Logic is the devil. When did Truth seeking become a process of logic?

Everything is happening by itself. You aren't causing it. Hencely, ergo, logico, whatever happens, had to happen and could not have been any other way. forget about whether it needed to happen or not. Leave that for next lifetime. It's irrelevant given that there is nothing that could have caused it to happen otherwise. Put that in your petitio principii and smoke it. :)~

Neeru

You are extremely "lucky" because you have one of the best spiritual teachers you can find anywhere right in Arambol. Neeru is a 70 year old german lady who gives Satsang three times a week, twice at her house on the cliff and on Sundays at the Magic Park. Once a month she holds a 12 day silent retreat at Mandrem beach. Just look for her posters or ask anywhere, you will find her. The retreat is very powerful, highly recommended. When the student is ready, the teacher will appear. You are meant to meet Neeru. What a gift. Her website www.neeru.org
