Mooji interview

There is an article about Mooji in a magazine called "Kindred Spirits". The article is very good except for one place that the writer makes it sound like Mooji says that his path is the ONLY path. That is not what I have heard Mooji say and it kind of made me feel like it does Mooji an injustice. Anyone else read this article?

Mooji Interview link

I'm sorry, but I do not have a link... I read the interview in the actual physical magazine.

I've listened to many of his satsangs on video online and have never heard him make any mention of anyone following him or that "his" path is THE PATH OF ALL PATHS, so to speak. It would surprise me if he did say that because he makes it clear that there is no "teaching, no teacher"... here is a link to that video:

I would not take mooji's

I would not take mooji's words too seriously. He is a smart fellow with good understanding of Advaita and, above all, great charisma but he is not realized and hence such possible declarations.

After many years of mediocre popularity in Tiruvannamalai, he finally gets the attention - many people attend his stansangs, books, etc. - and as with any other unrealized teachers - his developed ego is responding.

enlightened vs smart

Being smart has nothing to do with being enlightened. This man is far more enlightened than you might believe. I don't think he is looking for attention. There are no signs of his ego nature trying to develop.

I take his words seriously when they resonate within me, just as I would if your words did the same (which they do not, by the way). I have seen many so-called "gurus" dressed as if they are royalty and some who dress as if they are without modesty (almost nude) and people who clamor around them as if they are "gods" and bow down before them, etc. THIS is not what I see with Mooji. Also, he speaks with wisdom, he speaks clearly and does not talk in riddles. He has a sense of humor (where I have seen some "gurus" who are like robots).

Yes, this man is indeed enlightened and far more "realized" than you and I put together. If YOUR "realization" is indicated by how much you know, then you are mistaken about being enlightened.

Mooji does not put on a "persona"... he doesn't need to be exalted as do many so-called "gurus".

I hope he IS popular. People need to hear him. He is not "religious" by any means and too many people look to these "gurus" as a "religious" figure. Not good.

Oh, and by the way, jealousy is not becoming of any "enlightened" being.

As above, so below.

Smart, knowledgeable but way not realized

"Being smart has nothing to do with being enlightened"

angel76 indeed wrote that enlightened and smart are two different things.

"This man is far more enlightened than you might believe"

There is no "more enlightened" or "less enlightened" - there is enlightened and to the best of my judgement, mooji is certainly not. After you meet an enlightened one, you recognize the special refined quality, or more precisely, you recognize when there is a lack of that special refined quality. He doesn't have it, he has fundamental issues with ego. I heard him in private informal conversations as well as in satsangs. He is certainly not.

Still, he can be a good teacher for many.

"smart, knowledgeable..."

You know, this is why I am tired of Forums...
I didn't come to this forum to hear from people who think Mooji is less than what he is, or more than what he is. I came because I was hoping to discuss with those who resonate with what Mooji says. I brought up the article because I feel that from all the videos that I have viewed, I have NEVER heard Mooji draw attention to himself or even hardly refer to himself.

Mooji isn't "more or less" enlightened than your guru, mika, but he is definitely enlightened. How do I know this without ever having met him in person??? By what he speak of, by his eyes and the love that pours out through him. It it obvious that Mooji does not move you, and just because he does not, does not mean he is not enlightened. He doesn't even care about the term "enlightenment" and frankly, neither do I.

Disregard the bottle and dring the wine

There is a lot one can learn from Mooji. He is probably not enlightened but he is extremely advanced - I attended his satsangs in Tiruvannamalai for several years and he addressed in a beautiful precision some issues I was struggling with for years, including issues relating to Advaita.

Bottom line - I think it doesn't matter if he said that or not - disregard the bottle and drink the wine. It is a good wine.

good wine

I find it to be an excellent "wine" when I drink from Mooji's words.

Thank you

Enlightened, or not...?

Everyone brings up some very valid points here..

Whether or not Mooji really is enlightened, or just smart is really not my place to judge. Regardless of whether we`ve ever met, or not.

When I look into Mooji`s eyes, I see a genuine love. When I hear Mooji`s words, I hear gentleness, and truth. Some people gravitate towards those qualities, and seek help from Mooji. Some people just can`t connect with him, and they need a different teacher/guru to help them realize themselves. There is nothing wrong with either choice.

Mooji is not my teacher. It isn`t because of anything that he did, or didn`t do. It has nothing to do with Mooji. My teacher is ``my inner me.`` I do not need a teacher on the ``outside`` sort of speak.

Peace, Love & Blessings;
Serenity
