Hey guys,

I am 23 years old and I am planning this summer my first trip to India (Yayyyy).
I am looking for an ashram to spend my first week in, and I am quite lost...
Basically the things that are important to me are the people and the nature...
Any recommendations ?

Thank you all :)

First ashram

Hey, thanks for your comment

Regarding to location I prefer somewhere close to Delhi or Bombay. Since I am going alone I prefer somewhere where I won't have to use much train of bus.
I am looking for activities such as yoga, meditation mainly... The nature is very important to me and I would love to study some more about the Buddhism... I was thinking about osho ashram in Pune . What do you think??

Have a beautiful day :)

Rishikesh

I wouldn't recommend the Osho ashram. It is not an ashram anymore, it is more of a resort and I found it non spiritual in its essence, more of a center for spiritual gymnastics.

I would recommend you to browse the locations in the guru profiles (http://www.gurusfeet.com/guru), you have there good listings of all the centers and ashrams associated with each guru. You can filter there according to country (India).

If I were you, I would arrive at Delhi and travel by bus or train to Rishikesh (it's not far away). There you have a great variety of good ashrams (yoga, meditations etc) with a great view in a great atmosphere. Just check in http://www.gurusfeet.com/forum/weather-india#comment-42 that the time you plan to go is ok for this area of India (although people go to Rishikesh year around).
