Joining in solidarity

I join in solidarity with the Iranians.

I don't have much hope though. I think the authorities will gain control over the demonstrations and I'm not sure Moussavi is much different than the others. He has a brutal history in the regime of Iran when he was prime minister and part of the Islamic revolution. I don't see a change in the religious and spiritual freedom in Iran.

Our hearts are with you in this crucial time

There are governments and there are people.

Seekers of powers and seekers of happiness.

Organizations that want to limit freedom and souls whose nature is freedom.

We must always remember to differentiate.

We in the west had the tendency to let the media and our governments to make us confuse between the rulers of Iran and the Iranian people.

These are the people who preserved for eaon the pearls of Islam, Sufism and Zoroastrianism.

We must not forget to differentiate.

Thinking of you

I'm afraid hard days may be in front of us. Do not give up and take care.

PS. I wonder where all the vocal spiritualists of this site are when it comes to solidarity in the heart? What is the worth of philosophical smart arguments of the mind when there is nothing in the heart for others?

Wishing you success

I agree with your PS. Many people are stuck in mind games. Especially in the west. Other signs are their contempt to worship, prayer, meditation.

The "you"

"Pretentious words of love and nothing but judgment, anger and hate in your hearts."

Be careful. The perceiver is the perceived.

What is perceived (now) as being 'out there', isn't.

If what you're telling to be careful is Phil, no, the perceiving mind is not the perceived mind. This is only so when there is no Phil either, in which case to whom are you speaking?

Phroggy | Wed, 06/24/2009 - 03:38

"If what you're telling to

"If what you're telling to be careful is Phil, no, the perceiving mind is not the perceived mind."

It doesn't matter who's telling, and who's listening.

When one tells, one listens to 'telling' as they tell. When one listens, one listens to 'telling' as they listen. D'ya really think we're separate?

The perceiving mind is *always* the perceived mind. Perceiving 'your' mind, is perceiving 'my' mind.

"This is only so when there is no Phil either, in which case to whom are you speaking?"

I'm speaking to the one speaker/listener we really are. Distinctions are not necessary, and in fact are not there.

Or, nobody's speaking and nobody's listening.

The speaker speaks/'listens', and the listener 'speaks'/listens. Is it clear how none of this is divided?

Even here you cannot control your urges and must put this clever chitchat and not even with one single mentioning of any solidarity or other thing relevant of the heart. Do you also make sex this way or console your spouse this way or spend a romantic moment this way? When will you finally see that your mind is playing games with you in order to avoid facing emotions and extinction?

You have just demonstrated big time what those above stated.

I would say admins to erase these comments from here!

Wars are about self righteous ignorance, judgment, separation, intollerance that lead to cries for correction, censorship, control. This is what wars are about and this is what your post is about. This is what I mean about the pretense of love. Peace and acceptance begins with you. It could even spread to your relationships with everyone else. Only then is your attention to the state of Iran not harmful, but it will not be necessary because you will have done all you can do. This is what the "clever chitchat" above is addressing, that what you see happening outside of you is happening inside, but you are too angry to notice. You want to win a battle.

Phroggy | Fri, 06/26/2009 - 19:42
Omkaradatta's picture

Try this... (Phroggy)

In the "jesus" post above, replace all his "you's" with "I's" (or just imagine someone speaking to themselves), and reread it. It's interesting :-).

We are all speaking to ourselves, because the observed is the observer. We are truly not separate. No relationship is happening.

The truth makes folks angry, because what strikes at the "me" brings up a rejection of "you" (=clinging to "me"). That simple... and utterly mechanical, nonvolitional.

Omkaradatta | Sat, 06/27/2009 - 02:53

Yeah, that fits.
Mechanical, nonvolitional, unconscious, zombielike.

Spiritual narcissism

Yes I agree. Spirituality is a convenient excuse for many to nourish their narcissism. Such people that you often apot in spiritual context hardly feel anything anymore towards others (which they, of course, justify using the claim that there is no otherness in reality). Maybe these comments will serve as a wake up call for them.

The protest is disapearing, our solidarity should not

The protest is disapearing, the riots in Teheran are dimishing to dust.

We should not dimish our support and expressions of solidarity.

We do not know what is going there underneath the quietness above the surface Iran but we should not loose hope that maybe there is still something going on.

We who were born into free democratic circumstances take for granted our relative personal and spiritual freedom (we ourselves are still far from having true freedom, we are still controlled by corrupted governments and careless politicians who use us and most of our tax money not for our benefit and condemn our irregular spiritual paths). We can't even imagine what it is not to be free, to live in a dictatorial regiem under constant fear.

Please do not erase this solidarity forum, please do not stop your expressions of support.

Ways to fight peacefully

Release green balloons, shout Alla Alakbar at a fix hour from the windows, wear a certain green cloth, decide on a certain salute.

They will ban one act but you will come up with another. They will not be able to do anything to stop such a fight.

There are a lot of peaceful yet very effective ways to make dictators go mad and still not to have casualties.

Don't give up. Do it smartly. Do it peacefully.
