I read a few books and online guides of tarots and the interpretations are sometimes so different and even conflicting. I am confused!

The cards are only a medium

You must understand that the cards are only a medium, a means of language for YOU. This is the emphasis: You. The cards by themselves do not encompass any stand-alone independent meaning.

You can use the common interpretations as a basis or a suggestion but you most adopt your own symbolism. Don't be afraid, flow with your heart when you read the cards, choose the meanings that vibrate for you.

I think the cards, or palm

I think the cards, or palm or whatever, is just something to fixate your conscious mind upon. From the subconscious of the gazer, then, information may distill to the surface. At least that's the way I imagine it works.

So to answer your question, consider this scenario:

A) There may indeed be multiple interpretations. I have heard it said that all religions are 100% true, and I have come to find this statement bears verisimiltude.

B) One or both of the interpreters is full of shit.
