"Words become real with the energy of action...

Wahido Theriaca's picture

"Words become real with the energy of action. The energy of action comes from our centre, our heart, rather than from the constant gazing into the bottomless vacuum of negative thoughts. Energy comes naturally from the light that shines within, which shines when you are not the doer of actions but rather the servant of the Divine. Spontaneous true happiness is beyond thoughts. It is the wisdom of the Self."

Life without Control

joejo's picture

To live is to act, yet is there a need of doer or controller. To me the kernel of spiritual life is in living a full life which does not require a controller.

Karma

Karma (Sanskrit: कर्म) originated in the Vedic system of religion, otherwise known as Hinduism. As a term, it can at the latest be traced back to the early Upanishads, around 1500 BCE.

Doing & Non Doing

joejo's picture

To live is to act. Without actions even the bare maintenance of the body is not possible. Yet it is the actions (?) that bind us. Renunciation has been seen as a solution in all the major traditions.

Knots of Heart

joejo's picture

According to Vedanta the three knots of Heart are Ignorance (Avidya), Desire (Kama) and Action (Karma).

Two Paths

joejo's picture

I think Gita basically gives two broad classifications, Path of knowledge and for renunciates and Path of action for others. Devotion, meditation etc are for men of action.

Action

38. Having made --- pleasure and pain, gain and loss, victory and defeat --- the same, engage in battle for the sake of battle; thus you shall not incur sin. Chapter 2 Gita

It is not action that we must surrender - but doership!

Divyaa Kummar's picture

It is not action that we must surrender - but doership! It is not effort that we must surrender - but the self-will that seeks to direct it in particular ways. Its not passion that we let go off - but attachment! Its not activity or engaging with life & its people and events that we must step back from- but from identifying self through them!

— Divyaa Kummar
