-Master Sarvari Namaskaram - Master CVV Namaskaram-
Mere devotion is not yoga. One may enjoy tranquility by chanting. But it cannot be trance or transcendental state. It does not touch the Kundalini at all. Lord Krishna while dispensing karma yoga, touched Bhakthi on a second track. Love and devotion become the major components of Krishna Yoga. Which during the twentieth centaury being re-shaped as Krishna consciousness. This Yoga of love had its root in Brindavan, Radha and Gopika damsels were the flower buds. Sri Krishna gave this Yoga of love as boon to his girl friends. Whoever that adores him with love and devotion, he would present a graceful appearance and appease them. Then on this devotion and love occupied an important place in Yoga along with Karma Yoga of Sri Krishna.

You don’t feel any spur in Kundalini or stir in Mooladhara by any amount of devotion. So, I strongly believe that devotion and worship do not come under the caption of Yoga. Yoga means Atma. To find a way to approach Atma. Ultimately our Atma should merge with or submerge in Paramatma. Atma does not touch any god.. Even Paramatma doesn’t bother of gods. There stands no god or god-worship in between Atma and Paramatma. Just for our satisfaction, we speak in terms of Para Sakthi or some other Sakthi. We talk in terms of many gods whom we love and worship.

No doubt, we attain some super natural powers and label them as siddhies (powers) in Yoga. We don’t attain such super natural powers by devotion. All sorts of Yogis, Kundalini, Mantra or Tantra do gain some super natural powers at one stage or other. Raja Yogis do not wish any Siddhies. More over they dislike them. They concentrate on Mooladhara and give thought to Kundalini. The very thoughtfulness would stir Kundalini to awake. Like a liquid vapor, the Kundalini emerges. It takes the form of energy. It begins to flow upward. When it touches the head center point, it turns into consciousness and enlighten every particle of the human body. When the whole physical body is thus enlightened, mind becomes divine. It forgets to think. So, we lose contact with the thought faculty.

It does not happen in case of devotion or Bhakthi. One forgets himself as well as his self. One is at a loss to find his Atma too. One may have the benefits of seeing his desired god or goddess. One may be blessed by the grace of a particular godhead. This beautiful love-packed dedication is named devotion. Because it is love coated, it looks beautiful. It possesses glamour. It has glamour too. This sort of devotion towards the chosen god or goddess, when descended to ground level becomes service. You may call it human service or social service or Bhootadaya, broadly. By nature, devotion acquires feminine characteristics.

By Kundalini yoga, we come into contact with he Kundalini energy. There are no sidetracks. Just to merge in higher consciousness is our aim, nothing else. There will be no desires on the part of Sadhakas. Come what may, he will proceed, he will progress. There is a vast difference between Laya Yoga and Gnana Yoga. In Gnana we give importance to only higher wisdom and higher consciousness. That is very much based on enquiry. That is intended for knowing the self, by the Self, for the Self. That is Self-analysis. That is self-enquiry. A Gnana Yogi does not care for Kundalini and its powers. Self-knowledge and Enlightenment are enough for his inner self, for his Meditation. He could find truth, recognize truth into himself. Bliss itself is a great blessing to him. Then he will devise reasons for the cause. This type of cause and affect becomes the basic element for his spiritual progress. Love, human service, compassion become elementary. His ultimate goal would be Truth and Truth alone. He speaks truth, He talks truth, and he lives in truth.

Service to mankind cannot be an alternative to the service of God. Both are entirely different. The former one needs touchy heart, feeling and compassion. The service of god needs the touch of Soul and Atmic response. Then only our service reaches God. Our surrender to Para Brahma (the supreme) will be complete. Sri Krishna did not give stress on ecstatic union. He gave importance to ‘Knowing’ selflessly. That would-be the essence of Yoga Culture. He even discarded idol worship and Saguna Aradhana that is worship on form, quality and character. That means he gave first preference to Atma Yoga. Silent meditation concentrating on nothing. No Yogi recommends any kind of god worship. The gods are incapable of bestowing any boons. Yoga leads to knowing of Paramatma. A direct line and an Independent approach are essential.

No doubt, devotion is needed. But to what extent? For which purpose? Devotion is needed till we assert ourselves, till we establish perfect confidence, till we surrender completely to the great cause. So devotion becomes another world to willingness. Love is a synonym to happiness and pleasure. If you don’t have complete belief in your guru you cannot progress an inch. Devotion is said to be nine-fold. There are nine styles in Bhakthi. The qualities, characteristics and other qualifications of Raja Yoga are split to suit Bhaktha Yoga. This Bhakthi cult circles round Vishnu and his incarnations. Slowly it spread to other gods and goddesses. The line of devotion and Yoga run Parallel. They never meet. A wise discrimination is needed for Yoga mediums.

We can categorically divide human beings into two kinds. One section desires knowledge and the other section desires happiness. Only a few from the first section come to take shelter in Yoga, the other section earns and enjoys life till the end. The wise do not care for worldly joys, benefits and pleasures. The search for Truth is not at all easy. The desire to possess enhances worldliness. The desire to sacrifice enhances Divinity.

To be cont...

..."The so called kundalini comes to you uncalled and follows like a hutch dog."

Lol

If the goddess (Kundalini)favors me I would be like a hutch dog following Her.

Truly it is her divine will who she visits.

May God be with you.

If the kundalini comes, it

If the kundalini comes, it will very quickly resolve the issue for you as to who is leading and who is following. :\

If the kundalini comes, it

Namaste
I do agree with you phroggy .
One has to follow the path/system and only then one should comment.
Yes if someone's Kundalini is Awaken only then he can realize that who follows and who lead.
A Divine Energy never follow you but you follow that Divine Energy.

I truly know nothing about Kundalini...

...or the Chakras and their limits.

For me each new thought, is like a chakra, fusing with infinite many others, in a coherent move to my joy; and the minds see the Almight's beauty and grace.
