why are we unable to escape, even for an instant, from the clutches of Maya or delusion?

Parama Pujya Shri Shri Nimishananda Guruji's reply:-

That happens only when you lack spiritual education. Only spiritual sadhana and grace can liberate you from the delusion of duality. It is said that even Gods sometimes succumb to the wiles of delusion. If you read the Shiva Purana, you will see many instances where Lord Shiva asks His own divine consort, Parvathi, to descend to the earthly plane and meditate in order to shatter Her delusion. Each place where Parvathi has performed austerities is now a Shakthi Peetha or powerful pilgrimage centre. When you visit such holy shrines, your own attitude of delusion is greatly reduced.

maybe the concept of maya is the delusion

Maybe because there is no such thing as maya and reality is not delusion. i think that the concept of maya is is the delusion. It serves gurus and teachers to maintain their control over the poor naive disciples who will never realize something beyond the perceived reality vecause there is no such thing - a pefect formula to make sure ther remain slaves.

Maya is a concept and as any other concept is useless. I have never met one single person who has genuinly gone beyong maya, just gurus that preach about it.

Not knowing that i am in maya is the biggest maya (delusion).Once we come to Guru's lotus feet we will recognize that it. By Only Guru can remove that darkness called Maya by His effulgence of wisdom.

There is a biggest delusion

Not knowing that we are in maya is indeed a delusion but not the biggest - the biggest one is pretending to know that we are in maya while we have no supportive firsthand experiential evidence to support this stand. In other words, regarding the concept of maya as knowledge when it is a matter of belief.
