Whether to remain silence or to pray when we prostrate before God or Guru?

Should the mind verbalise our needs or should it be in a state of silence when we prostrate at the feet of God or our Guru? There are many things that God has not given us, Pujya Guruji. Sometimes I feel that if I do not ask for anything, God may give me nothing.

Parama Pujya Shri Shri Nimishananda Guruji replies:-

It is very good if your mind can be in a state of silence when you prostrate. God and your Guru are far more aware of your needs than you are. They know what is required for your inner growth and will give it to you at the most appropriate time.

Are you asking God to keep your liver and kidneys working every day? Have you prayed to Him to keep your heart beating today? No. Aren’t they functioning perfectly in spite of this? When you give God your love, whatever you need will automatically flow to you.

Instead of focusing on what you don’t have, first think of all the wonderful things that God has already given you. Count your blessings and thank God for them. Why do you compare yourself with others and dwell upon what you do not have? Rejoice in His abundance and let your heart overflow with gratitude.
