What if.....

What if it's too obvious for imagination? What if the moment mind imagines, it just starts tracing it's own reflection? What if it's too close to plot a course to, and as soon as the map maker begins to draw, he plots a course away? What if it's too simple to become, and all becomings are stories of tilting windmills written by a madman? What if all tools are tools of mind designed to dig in his own garden for his own buried treasure?

Have you ever played hide and seek with your son, knowing full well where he is hiding but calling out, 'Oh, where is he? I can't find him anywhere', and enjoying the giggles coming from behind the sofa where he also knows he has been found out? Have you ever thought that Truth seeking is a little like that?

cute analogy

Very cute analogy :-)

I feel it is more like me playing hide and seek with my little son while my wife knows where he is hiding, giving me smiling clues about his whereabouts in her looking eyes... Both of us remember most of the time that this is just a game while he, our son, is sure that this activity is a serious matter.

The things which seems to be too simple are too difficult.
If you bring much close the mirror then you will not be able to see your image in it.It is so with truth,it is much near to us, perhaps the near most, even though it is farthest away to us.

Yes, too difficult for mind because mind always looks outward for an object of it's perception. This is how experience works and this process of subject seeking an object can never reveal the subject who is the seeking itself. It's only when the source of mind, undistracted by mind's search for objects, lazilly turns upon itself, that Self becomes aware of Self, effortlessly.
