'What is the best form of prayer?' This question always pondered in my mind. Is it worshipping God with slokas? Doing the pooja? Reading the scriptures? What is it? I followed most of these traditions due to fear. Fear of God getting angry on me if I would not do any of these forms of worship. Some how this did not satisfy my thirst of worshiping the Lord. This thirst was finally quenched when I heard Guruji's magical words "Just say – God I love you. I love your love. This is the best prayer you can ever say." These words liberated the heart from the bondage of the age old adulation. "Where there is love, there is no fear. Love God without any fear. God is here to Love you, not to curse you." What more could a seeker of the Lord ask from His Beloved deity.

Unless and until we become spiritually wise, we shall never know what our true possession is. Our true possession, our eternal possession, our only possession, is our love of God. There cannot be anything else here on earth or there in Heaven for us to claim as our own. Only our love of God—our constant, soulful and self-giving love of God—can be our eternal possession. This possession will always remain safe, and we ourselves will also be safe only when we claim this possession as our own, very own.

Once we know that we have love of God in abundant, boundless and infinite measure, and then God's possession, which is His entire creation, immediately becomes our possession as well. Our love of God claims God, and the moment we offer our love to God, God's creation immediately becomes ours as well. His entire creation comes from His Vision, and He and His Vision are inseparable. When we claim God with our love, God's Concern and God's creation immediately claim us; for the sole possessor is God and nobody else.

Here on earth everything that we can see, we try to claim. Everything that is around us also wants to claim us. But we cannot claim others and they cannot claim us, for we see that something is missing in them and they see that the same thing is missing in us. What is missing is love of God. This is the seed, the possibility-seed, which eventually grows into the inevitability-fruit.

Knowing this let us claim only the Love of God with a prayer "Love you Gurudeva! Love Your Love Gurudeva!"

Offering everything at the Lotus Feet of Pujya Guruji,

With Love,

An Attitude of Gratitude

Very well said Ashwini. Saying 'I love You Gurudeva' is indeed a powerful way of surrendering at the Lotus Feet of your Guru. This prayer automatically brings with it other prayers- like--
-I Love you unconditionally, irrespective of whether MY wishes for myself are fulfilled or not. Because YOUR will is MY will, Thy will be done always and forever.
-You know best what is required for my growth and evolution. You have already blessed me with all I need and all I ever will.
-I am grateful that you are filling air into my lungs and pumping blood into in my every cell every moment.
-I am grateful that I can see You, hear You and sing Your praises.
-I am so glad you have given me the wisdom to throw away the piece of paper on which I had jotted down my long list of 'wants' instead of a prayer of gratitude for all You have already blessed me with, when I come to Your shrine!

The best form of prayer : a discussion

The best form of prayer to the God is doing one's own duties with heart and soul without expectation of results.

Saying to God, "I love you" without due examination of the veracity of your statement by yourself through meditation, and knowledge of the innerself, may land you in self-deceit.
In such a position no Guru can help the person.

This is as per my benign view.

Tattwamasi !!!

Prayer = Connect

Prayer means to connect and communicate with God. What can be the best way to connect & communicate with GOD? We have to connect with HIM the way HE connects with us. On the other hand, are we disconnected? lol!
