Spiritual people are the worst liars

Never believe spiritual people blindly.

They are the worst liars.

They allow themselves to lie freely to themselves and to others because they have the protection of their belief that spiritual people never lie.

In other words, they even lie about them lying.

They lie because they are attached to spirituality and to their spiritual path.

Their spirituality is not casual, it is the most critical thing in their life.

Without their spiritual path, they have no much interest in life.

Therefore, they will allow nobody to take their spirituality and their spiritual path from them.

They will not allow even themselves or truth to do so.

So in order to protect from themselves and from truth they will lie if needed.

They will lie when they argue that their path is the only path.

They will lie by using a tone of confidence.

They will lie when they present things they believe in as absolute facts.

Until they are released by grace from their attachment to spirituality and from their deceptive nature, they will remain in ignorance.

This does not mean spiritual people are bad people.

They are just selfish as any other people.

But under disguise.

They just want to convince you to believe in their lies so that they will be convinced too.

Do not be angry with them. Be compassionate.

And be careful.

Especially of the vocal ones who speak in a confident tone.

Like the writer of these lines, for example.

Never believe spiritual people blindly.

They are the worst liars.

Actually, spiritual people are not the worst liars. Religious people are.

This world is nothing but the projection/refelection of your inner self.

Any how at last you corrected little bit your self in last word/line.
Do not judge this world in biased way but in neutral way.The problem is that we see this world in biased way and the problem starts.
Seeking is nothing but to be neutral and to see this world with nude eyes without any prejudice.
choice is yours.

People lie to others because they lie to themselves

For some time now I see here several people that are selectively using the "world as a projection" slogan to escape responsibility and to avoid facing true criticism on them, no matter how many people tell them the same thing. As soon as they feel that someone sheds a light of truth on them in some comment they immediately pull out the projection weapon and isolate themselves completely from any self suspicion.

Such a reaction is a guaranteed formula to stay in ignorance (as they indeed appear to be) plus it is hypocrite and ludicrous:

(1) They pull out this argument selectively only when it is convenient for them, not on any step or communication (otherwise they could not have been able to communicate at all or have relationships).

(2) They misunderstand and misuse this theory - If the world is a projection than I am projecting this criticism which in such case may be true.

(2) It is an endless close loop argument. I am projecting that he is projecting that I am projecting and so on. As such, it is useless for any argument.

Please anyone, in order to advance and to maintain some quality, control your mind's tendency to manipulatively misuse theories. Always inspect before what profit is there for my mind in doing so.

Truthfulness is all we have

I agree with every word. We do not have the luxury to be "spiritually correct" and sweep something unpleasant but yet so fundamental under the rag. Truthfulness is all we have and the original post defines it so meticulously.

Unfortunately I agree

I don't think he judged the world in a biased way. He gave supporting arguments to any claim he makes.

How can we find truth when when we seek it with untruthful means. It's like aiming to arrive in the north using a deceptive compass. First, make sure your compass is fixed.

This issue is emphasized by almost any spiritual teacher. Gurdjieff, I believe, was of the most critical:

"The most serious lying is when we know perfectly well that we do not and cannot know the truth about things and yet never act accordingly. We always think and act as though we knew the truth. This is lying. When I know that I do not know something, and at the same time say that I know, or act as though I knew it, it is lying. For instance, we know nothing about ourselves, and we really know that we know nothing, yet we never recognize or admit the fact; we never confess it even to ourselves, we act and think and speak as though we knew who we are. This is the origin, the beginning of lying."

- The Fourth Way, p30

"In the life of an ordinary man truth and falsehood have no moral value of any kind because a man can never keep to one single truth. His truth changes. If for a certain time it does not change, it is simply because it is kept by 'buffers.' And a man can never tell the truth. Sometimes 'it tells' the truth, sometimes 'it tells' a lie. Consequently his truth and his falsehood have no value; neither of them depends upon him, both of them depend upon accident. And this is equally true when applied to man's words, to his thoughts, feelings, and to his conceptions of truth and falsehood."

"In order to understand the interrelation of truth to falsehood in life a man must understand falsehood in himself, the constant incessant lies he tells to himself."

"These lies are created by 'buffers.' In order to destroy the lies in oneself as well as lies told unconsciously to others, 'buffers' must be destroyed. But then a man cannot live without 'buffers.' 'Buffers' automatically control a man's actions, words, thoughts, and feelings. If 'buffers' were destroyed all control would disappear. A man cannot exist without control even though it is only automatic control. Only a man who possesses will, that is, conscious control, can live without 'buffers.'"

Insecurity leads to spiritual dishonesty

As soon as we open our mouths, we lie. Saying the truth is extremely important for the spiritual seeker. But he/she in most cases cannot know what is true and what is a lie. Therefore the best he/she can do is to explicitly qaualify whatever he/she says and believes in to be an assumption.

A good method for working on your lies is to constantly observe whatever you say without judgment and to spot the lies. Say whatever you say, do not try to be honest in your words, try to be honest in admitting thereafter what was a clear lie and what was true.

We lie out of different reasons but in the spiritual context, it is usually due to insecurity. We want whatever we believe in to be the truth but deep down we know that it is only a belief despite our fake self assurance.

And so when we are insecure about something, we raise our voice, we try to convince others in order to convince ourselves, and we try to do so in a comparative way - we cannot prove that what we believe in is true so we try to prove that other approaches are false using assumptions based on our approach. Beware when you spot any of those symptoms in you.

The reason: many spiritual people are afraid of people

The reason for this hypocrisy is that many spiritual people have a deep fear of other people. They find refuge in spirituality because in spirituality they are allowed to be alone, they are even encouraged to look in and less out, they are encouraged sometimes not to interact with others - a paradise for someone who is afraid of other people.

But not dealing with this enormous fear is of course an escape. The spirituality is used in a wrong way. All the seclusions will yield nothing until the seeker faces the world and his fears.

You can notice this phenomenon when meeting a lot of spiritual seekers, e.g. when attending a satsang of a guru. The first sign of someone who is afraid of other people is a "mask" he/she wears, a certain kind of hypocritical buffer he/she maintains and for this maintenance he will lie.

It comes out of fear and so you shouldn't be judgmental. From the understanding of the reasons comes compassion and acceptance.

A rose?

A lie is a lie, is a lie.

Spiritual lies, religious lies, political lies, economical lies... How is one lie better or worse than the other?

I believe that humans in general have a great tendency to judge themselves within any group they strive to belong to and create internal moral codes and standards that are simply unatainable because they aren't real.

Why can't a spiritual person lie? Have we become inhuman or ego-less because we decided to go on a spiritual path?

Some say that it's actually the opposite, that people "become" worse, once they discover an essential aspect of life.

For me, it's simply a question of uncovering layers. As we go deeper, the darker it gets, not because there isn't any light, it's just that we forget to breathe it with us.

Breathing in and breathing out, to the beat of the prana...

P.S: I just lied somewhere in that post, can you sniff my ego out? :P

love to you

I feel the fear you are feeling about trusting "spiritual people". without knowing the true intentions of a person the process can be a scary thing. But i do believe that fear is a major road block to increasing the level of love and happieness one is able to experiance. for yourself and others do what it takes to remain open to everything until you deside for yourself what to hold on to and what to release. We are constantly seeking for truth and it can get frustrating running into individuals that are not at the level of understanding to give you what your looking for. The cool thing is evrything you are searching for is already within you. Close your eyes and ask questions with the right intentions and i believe your questions will be answered.

Your EGO

Buddha said: "Three things cannot be long hidden: the sun, the moon, and the truth."

If you believe that spiritual people are liars, its because of your ego. You don't want to see spiritual people happy. Spiritual people have very few material things but they are very happy with their spiritual life. Even the richest man on earth is never happy with what he has, he want more and more. Spiritual people with the 3 basic needs (food, clothing and shelter) are very very happy.

"Spiritual Knowledge is very powerful..."
"Spiritual Knowledge is the truth..."

See the divinity in every spiritual people and be one of us, i'm sure at 100% that you will be happy and more and more happy when you grow spiritually!!!! The gift of spirituality is the most greatest thing that can happen in one's life time....

Spiritualists & Materialists Are Liars!

All man will distort the facts under certain conditions, spiritual man are not exceptions. Spiritual people are incomplete just as material people are therefore they both are liars.

When one is either material or spiritual they can only see half of the reality, spiritualist sees only the spiritual side and materialist the material. It can't be truth because it is incomplete, they can be material or spiritual facts but they are not truth. Truth requires integrating both the spiritual with the material and what is revealed will appear a lie to people the other persuasion.

The Buddha told us to seek the middle path which Jesus called the narrow path with the straight gate. When one is walking either of those paths they see what both the materialist and spiritualist sees and presents their union which is truth. If it isn't time for truth to be make known to the masses, they will then present only one side.

In that light, both the materialist and spiritualist are liars.

Make It Simple!

I didn't judge, I am a successful spiritual person.

Rather than saying one is both correct and in err, why not just say walk the middle path or narrow gated straight way? Either of those paths allows one to walk at the joining point of the magnifiers called opposites. It is very difficult for most minds, conditioned to judge, to be able to grasp what you just said, therefore, why not make it as simple as I just did.

Making It Easy!

I'm Elijah, the last sage for this civilization.

A spiritual person is one having comprehended the purpose for existence and that isn't easy. It is simple when we unite all things but so long as we segregate it is in no way easy. Existence is an integrated entity appearing segregated to our conditioned into evil and good thinking.

I didn't say make it easy, I said make it simple. Simple isn't easy because we have been programed to look for the difficult. Although I keep it simple most people can't even grasp what I say, they often see the sense of it but can't apply it.

Everything we see is the Zeroverse's (universe, zero is the only whole number because every number added to it's equal negative or positive equals zero) principles, life on earth is the learning process by living every attribute of every life type, that the design of existence making it the Zeroverse's principles.

Happiness is conditional, as is joy, but joy depends on your understanding while happiness depends on getting something desired which isn't usually understood. Your ultimate happiness I'm supposing should be joy.
