"GURU" can also test his or her "DISCIPLE",
EXAMPLE:
"Hazart Umaro khusro" was disciple of "Hazart shmasturbez sahib", Once "Shmasturbez saib", To test his disciples went to the "red light area", Named as kotha's of vieshays, He left all his disciples on the street and he himself went to the kotha, essept "Khusro sahib" all his disciples raned away saying that our guru has gone mad he is a false guru.

Test with hidden agenda of teaching

Yes,

Guru, can test his disciples any time required. Since testing is other form of teaching. Hence that test must be to make his disciple to improve knowledge or know the truth. Else test would not make any sense.

Yes. Every Guru has a right to test his disciples. Else knowledge and wisdom falls into the hands of undeserving that will be a disaster for the world.
But true disciples fare well in all the tests.

Genuine seekers of truth are also free to test a Guru before becoming his disciples.

>>>Genuine seekers of truth

>>>Genuine seekers of truth are also free to test a Guru before becoming his disciples<<<
Genuine seekers can test a person not Guru. One becomes Guru after test. But before test its only person. No Guru before test.

Re: >>>Genuine seekers of truth

Guru is Guru if seekers accept/reject/are neutral to/protest Him.

Only a genuine seeker becomes a disciple after his test. Then Guru starts testing him.

Seekers, in ignorance, consider a Guru as a person like them.
