A Quack, Quack Here …..

A quack, quack here…
And a quack, quack there…
Here a quack, there a quack…
Everywhere a quack quack…..

This little ditty, Old Mac Donald Had A Farm…
Started up in my head…..
As I prepared to go to bed, at night…
Okay, then.
Here comes another blog, I said to myself….
But what the heck was this…..???
At first I was a little amused….
About this nursery rhyme, having popped up.

And from there it flowed….

Nothing here…
Nothing there…
Nothing, nothing, everywhere….

No self….
No non-self….
No Self….

"Much Ado About Nothing"
William Skakespeare, the enlightened sage, got that right.

And for those, who don’t get the title, he goes his merry way, with great gusto and aplomb, to spin a yarn….
Of star-crossed lovers…
Mis-understandings….
Comedy…
Tragedy….
Drama…
And the proverbial, innate master that he is,
Ends with…
Either a gentle whisper….
Or a spectacular flourish….

While the deafening applause of a standing ovation…..
Echoes through every timbre….
And…..
The Maestro, takes a bow.
Till it’s show-time again.

Mind Candy

Sorry Mai, that title is simply preemptive, in the event anyone else should call this post mind candy. It is. But so is every other ritual: Christian, Buddhist, or otherwise. It seems more helpful to see them as Signposts, or fingers pointing at the moon.

Have you ever watched a video game played out? How the characters interact with each other? Choices made lead to different outcomes each time the game ends? On the level of the screen's graphics, the characters interact with each other and their environment. Pick up an object here. Turn here, drive there, etc.

I see a rock outside. On this level of physical reality, I can pick it up and move it there. We can interact with each other and our environment that way.

If you can access the source code for the video game, you can alter the scripts, code, program commands, subroutines, etc, to manipulate the visual output display on the screen.

The more I sit in meditation, and just be in the source code, the more pleasant my external reality seems to become, or at the very least seems to feel.

Continuing with the video game metaphor, here is something very interesting about this physical reality: The characters in the video game, themselves, input subroutines, into the source code to manipulate events in the game's visual output.

On the level of human physical reality, this is called "Prayer", or "Intention," by those who call themselves Christians. Without physical intervention, such as manually moving a rock from here to there, Praying for the health of someone, and then seeing that person's health improve, is an example. A prayer ("subroutine") was inserted by the person (character) into the source ("God") code, which influenced the visual display (person's restored health.)

Isn't that fascinating? If you can sit in ("abide in", John 15:7) the source code ("Me"--John 15:7, "God", "Stillness", "Buddha Nature", "True Nature", "Silence", "Being"), you can alter the code ("ask for in prayer"--John 17:7) and manipulate external physical events ("and it will be done for you"--John 15:7)

Chopra calls it something like, "Planting a seed (Prayer, Intention, Subroutine) in the realm of Pure Potentiality (God, Source Code).

Fascinating. This monkey chatter drives and fuels my intent and desire to spend more time sitting in meditation and just

BE.

"Everything in the end is a defense against nothingness."

Dear Quantum,
Perhaps, the title that might have served this post better, would have been " Much Ado About Nothing"

To quote Adyashanti:

"Everything in the end is a defense against nothingness."

The sense of being everything and at the same time nothing, is what this post meant to allude to.

Ironically, the more quiet contemplation there is, the deeper into that emptiness, all that is, subsides {including the me } , nothing remains.

I was really laughing at myself....
And the quack...quack was meant to demonstrate that...!!!

What really then can we talk about...
Or in this case write...

And yet that empty silence, that nothingness, reverberates...

Ever the eternal humming...

OM...OM...OM...

containing everything thing in it...

How ever nonsensical, however ludicurous...
Mind candy, et all....

There-in lies its wisdom...

And its ignorance.

Which Post I meant by "this post"

Hi Mai, by "this post", I was referring to my own post above. Not yours. Your post is a good post. It inspired me to write my reply, which I referred to as "this post" and which I titled "mind candy." So, I was calling my own writing above "mind candy."

Hahaha...Quantum,
Don't fret the small stuff :-)
Your post or mine...it doesn't matter.
We're on the same page...I often find my own posts, ludicrous and "mind candy" too...!!!
