The method of narration in the Scriptures and taught by the Guru to Disciples is called Sankhya system (Theory of deduction).
In our normal education system a student is taught from bottom to top. The method of teaching is from lower level to higher level. It means at higher level of classes topics pertaining to higher level are taught as compared to what was taught in earlier classes.
In the spiritual field exactly opposite method is adopted. After teaching the basics a disciple is taught the highest principle - MahaVakya's. If the disciple understands and grasps this his education is complete. If he doesnot then knowledge of one step below is taught. For Example- Bhagwat Gita, Upanishads, Brahma Sutra etc. are taught. If the disciple understands and grasps this principle, he will also be able to understand the highest principle - MahaVakya's at a later date and his education is complete. In this manner one step below is taught till the disciple understands that principle.
With due apology and respect to one and all it is said that the Idol worship in temples or going to churches etc. is considered as lowest in hierarchy of teaching. This is not bad because the disciple one day will get the inclination to learn the higher principles.
Doing of Japa, Meditation, efforts to Awakening Kundalini etc. falls at the middle in hierarchy of teaching. No dis-respect is shown to them nor it is said that they are bad. This is much better than other lower acts because the disciple is closer and will one day get the inclination to learn the higher principles as these acts purifies one and is filled with Satvic Principles which will make him understand the highest principle - MahaVakya's at a later date.
Instead of going round about find out a Guru learn and understand the highest principle - MahaVakya's at the earliest.
