“Then Jesus was led up by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil. And after He had fasted forty days and forty nights, He then became hungry. And the tempter came and said to Him, "If You are the Son of God, command that these stones become bread." Matthew KJV 4

We find somewhat similar account of Maara tempting Gautama Siddhartha before his enlightenment as Buddha.

Hindus have their Maya which has been seen as a power of illusion which tempts all to the shackles of the world. It conceals the Truth and projects a false appearance. Yet since truth is non dual it is indescribable. Ramakrishna viewed it differently as the very Goddess that binds and liberates being the power of ultimate reality. Swami Vivekananda has given a unique interpretation of Maya as a statement of fact. Since last few posts I am trying to be deliberately different, let me give my take on it.

Mind is Maya may not be an original interpretation but I am proposing that psychological time and space (refer previous post) as a handiwork of differentiating Ego are both the effect and cause of Maya like the egg and chicken.
