"....I never think of anyone in terms of what he can do for me. And I never profess love to someone because he has done something for me. If I didn’t actually feel love, I wouldn’t pretend to give it; and since I feel it, I give it. Love cannot be had for the asking; it comes only as a gift from the heart of another. Be certain of your feeling before you say to anyone, 'I love you'. Once you give your love, it must be forever. Not because you want to be near that person, but because you want perfection for that soul. To wish for perfection for the loved one, and to feel pure joy in thinking of that soul, is divine love; and that is the love of true friendship...."

Paramhansa Yogananda...

What is Love

I agree with you Bonya ji. But the question is the definition e are giving as love is it really love?Cos there i no hat we cant hate anyone known or unknown cos the soul is nothing but a fragment of the supreme soul which makes us same but different. Unique yet not quite unique cos we are on and the same but totally different

Love is the True essence of all.....

Tejaswini...It is a quote of "Sri Paramhansa Yogananda"...It is not talked about worldly love of self centeredness...it is talked about "True Love"...which is not limited to certain character...it is...braodening your heart and wishing for the perfection of the soul...and that should be the attitude of each being...and then there will be no enemy...at the inner most core of heart everybody wants to be loved...as this is the true essence of all!!!!!

Thank You

I think I get it now but I wish I can experience the transcendental love and reciprocate it in return

road map to love

You cannot really define love as you cannot define any other emotion or mental or mental disposition.

But you can feel it which is way stronger than defining anything.

And you can understand it and most of us actually misunderstand this feeling and its nature. I think that the best road map for this important yet confusing feeling is http://www.gurusfeet.com/blog/first-look-love-then-someone-love
