Folks...Many people gives initiation for meditation ,now a days. In my experience one of my friend can give shaktipat but he is not a guru, he just have the power to activate chakras . thats it. that will take you nowwhere. which guru can assure to give you real spiritual divine experience. you will have to practise/work hard for that divine experience, no doubt, but how to know and identify that the guru has the real stuff. Sad part is that in this kali yuga many people who claim themselves to be guru are very tough and rude while talking and behaviour too. as far as i know the guru is a person who normally do not get angry, very simple in nature, soft spoken and can answer any spiritual question. Any comments / views/ experiences please share?

Do not slot a guru....

While you are right that a lot of 'initiations' need not be 'authentic transmissions', it would be incorrect to label gurus as real or a fraud, based upon their apparent calm and peaceful nature, or 'rude and tough behaviour'...
As for working hard to gain a 'divine experience'- it is not the effort you put in but grace that brings that about...
I am, yet I am not...

Anyone can give a shaktipat, it is an innate ability

The striking truth is that almost anyone can give a shaktipat, it is an innate ability.

Even someone who is not a "professional spiritualist" can. "Professional spiritualist" of course do not like this facts and try hardly to fight it the same way, "professional religious people" try to claim monopoly on connection with God.

Another similar myth is that if diksha, opening chakras, initiations are done by an untrained person, it can be dangerous and cause a damage. This is also a myth, the person himself does not really do the initiation, he just enables it - it is the balancing forces that initiate.
