He who calls himself swami

Tags:
He who calls himself swami...
He who lets others call him swami...
He who agrees even to his guru's wish to be called swami...
He is, of course, not a swami.
That is why it is so hard to find a real swami, to recognize the real one.
A real swami will not call himself swami or let others call him so...
A real swami will not try to behave or dress according to your notions of a swami...
A real swami will not let you know that he is such by titles, names, gestures, rituals, appearance...
It takes less to recognize a real swami, less ego on your behalf.
It takes more to recognize a real swami, more openness of your heart.

Swami
The only harm the word swami can do is that it may inflate his ego if he is not a realized soul.Ego is the only thing that impedes spiritual progrss. The genuine gurus are unaffected by whether you call them swami or not.
The only thing?
Ego is a big obstacle but not "the only thing" as you believe. Transcend your ego and you will meet the others...
A real Swami will do whatever the hell he or she wants to
A real Swami does not feel the need to comply with your perception of him or her.
Real Swami
A real swami is least bothered about people calling him swami or fool. He is what he is. Self proclaiming boosts only ego. People are interested in fake swamis which a real swami knows very well.
