Hello everyone. I am glad to have found this site! Praise God! I am here in search of truth and to strengthen my spiritual walk towards God. I'm looking forward to meeting new people. I feel like there is more to my walk than just going to church on sunday. Everyday is a spiritual awakening for me. I see the beauty in just being alive and appreciate the fact I have been blessed with another day. I am seeking a spiritual teacher. I have read when the time is right a teacher will find me. I am new to alot of this. I have been bouncing around different christian churches since 2004 and I still haven't found a home yet. I believe God has led me here. Peace and blessings to everyone

Hi braaron

What kind of teacher are you looking for, and to learn what sorts of things?

Your own inner self is ultimately the best teacher, but an outer teacher can give you guidance and encouragements. "The crowd" in general (as for example here on the forum) will just pull you this way and that, leading you into yet another belief system and something else to conform to that will ultimately not satisfy.

Peace...

And this was said by one of the crowd

Jesus, this is exactly what he is being told by his Christian priests. What a welcome.

welcome

In India they advise you to distant from someone who offers you his services in the street without you first approaching him and specifically and directly asking him for his services.

The same applies to your search for a guru...

Love.

Fresh and new

Welcome, you have found a wonderful site or may be it found you?...enjoy it..don't take anything too serious...keep your mind wide open and fresh and new...keep a "beginner's mind...a Guru might appear or not, so what.

welcome

Agreeing with every word of mayasurfer!

And do not just read but write and share and comment (i.e. participate) - what may look to you trivial, may be a treasure for someone else.

The guru...

The guru is there when the student is ready to listen. There's no shortage of gurus, only a terrible shortage of receptive listeners :-p.

Most just hear what they want to hear, and ignore/resist what they don't like, what doesn't fit their pre-existing notions. How can anything ever change when this is the case?
