From: MAI

To: X...

Subject: integration of the nothingness and the everythingness.

Dear X,

Thank you for the interest that sparked the rather long response. hehehe.

Which is why I responded , the way I did.
Which is why everyone does what they do.
All speak from where they are standing-Now.
Since { fortunately for me } I had absolutely no grounding in formalized religion, or spirituality, or teaching, the words, karma, moksha, enlightenment, awakening, duality, even non-duality, realization ....etc. { you get the drift } had no meaning for me.
For that matter, the words, Guru and God, had no meaning either.
Devoid of meaning, and labelling, with no pre-conceived notions...is perhaps the one reason for total acceptance of AS IS.
NO CONDITIONING STOOD IN THE WAY.

Not that it would have mattered. Conditioning, being nothing more than mental fluff, and the guru knows this, he really does nothing. There's Nothing to be removed, nothing to understand, nothing to know, nothing to realise. It is only the devotee that THINKS, there's something there, that's getting in the way...!
Yet the LOVE, COMPASSION, GRACE and BENEVOLENCE of the GURU.....
When I look back, Swami, who would give so many discourses, never let me listen to any.
In fact on that 1st of Jan.1993, when I went to him, " I/me " was already not there. It really was emptiness going to meet emptiness...!!!
A discourse was going on, his voice was wafting over the mikes, like a soothing balm over me, all encompassing, warm, tender, gentle.
In that entire, probably hour-long discourse, I heard only the 1 sentence : " You are not the body...", and instantaneously knew it to be true. Never ever heard any discourses there after.
In fact once the triggering of the satguru, the internal guru happens, really the job of the external guru is over.
Dear X,
This sharing is THE ONE, CONVERSING WITH ITSELF.
Yes the divine IS working through each and everyone,
AS everyone.
It will bring about whatever is needed in the moment.
For the individual and the universal, as they are truely ONE . It's all the movement of that static ONE.
Best not to have any agenda...
The energy will move as it moves, agenda or no agenda, in any case. Hahaha...!!!

A couple of quotes from Ramana Maharishi,
Which resonated with the understanding :

Bhagavan: What happens when you make a serious quest for the Self is that the `I'-thought disappears and something else from the depths takes hold of you and that is not the `I' which commenced the quest.
Question: What is this something else?
Bhagavan: That is the real Self, the import of `I'. It is not the ego. It is the Supreme Being itself.

~~Ramana Maharishi
From: Be as you are, Chapter: Self enquiry

Enquiring within, who is the seer, I saw the seer disappear, leaving that alone which stands forever.
No thought arose to say I saw.
How then then could the thought arise to say, I did not see?

~~Ramana Maharishi

Ah ....LIFE...

Dear Nature Boy,
You're most welcome.
And thats how life keeps on getting lived...
not knowing whats going to turn up around the corner.
Sometimes it was really challenging to live from a sense of coming from a different understanding of my true nature, and for years I struggled to integrate it with my life.
Am kind of beginning to see that being naturally what you are , in the moment, whatever comes up , is the best way. It's all me.
No need to strive for any concept of perfection. Even the imperfections are me.
Ah.....LIFE.... :-)

True... ahhhh... to live life!

Since being raised Christian I had a long uphill battle to get to the place where I could "live in the now." All the dos and don'ts of Christianity and public schools are monuments to overcome in living in the now. The can'ts and must keep one from "going with the flow" because the flow sometimes puts can'ts before us and stops us from doing the musts for our learning which makes the conditioning the monument it is. Once I began reasoning why some things were not allowed and saw it was only because of the desire to control our actions, not that most of them are harmful to one's self or anyone else, I finally reached the apex to freedom.

Everything and everything one does is perfect, it is our conditioned concept of what perfect is which makes us think things are not perfect. What appears to be chaos is a precision performance in life. Therefore I agree, ahhhh... to live life! I must say you were blessed not to have religion imposed on you although it was still a mountain for you to climb.

Peace and Joy,
Elijah

Button Set to "Self destruct"

Thank you, Elijah.
That was beautifully put.

First being conditioned, then becoming identified with the conditioning, not knowing any better, and being so convinced that's who we are..!!
Then life beginning to self{the conditioned self}destruct, unravel.
And the guru's appearance to help you go back to ground zero- to see your "original face".
And to understand how the two are intertwined...

Seems to me life is pretty much operating on auto mode with no express permission from us...!!! :-) :-)

To quote Jeff Foster :

"We sing our song
And life sings back
In the interstices and silences

This is a mating ritual
Between two lovers
Who were never divided

Sound and silence
Rest and movement

Two cannot become one
If there were never two".

Operating On Auto Mode?

"Operating on auto mode" is what is done by man-in-mass because they usually are not conscious of what they're doing with reasoning, they are doing because it was what they were taught.

It may be you are "operating on auto mode" but if you expect to become all you can become you need to reason with everything you do. Our specie's name, man, means mind able to comprehend all things which require reasoning as to why you are doing it and if that is what you would do if you had never been conditioned. Using the Bible's metaphor of Eve being taken from Adam and Adam renaming her, and himself as well, woven from man or woman he renamed all of the world's people mind unable to comprehend all things which we must overcome.

It's that lack of and not willing to comprehend which cause most man to operating on auto mode. Now that you are learning who you are it's time to break being on auto mode and enter conscious mode.

Peace and Joy,
Elijah

No thought, spontaneous action

On auto mode, is primarily with no thought interfering with spontaneous action. The spontaneous action that comes from a knowing that all happens, rightly.

True That!

That's true! However, because you are coming into knowing yourself it requires your comprehending the hows and whys of existence, because of our specie's name, which only come from within one's self through meditating on those questions concerning specific subjects.

Peace and Joy,
Elijah

THANK YOU ELIJAH. Thats

THANK YOU ELIJAH.
Thats true.
Indeed coming from "conscious mode",
and with an understanding of my true nature,
I find myself, operating more spontaneously. Not
that that didn't happen before, but there was just too much "mind chatter", interfering. And brilliant when it didn't.

I like this quote:

"The intuitive mind is a sacred gift, and the
rational mind a faithful servant.
We have created a society that honours the servant,
and has forgotten the gift."

-Albert Einstein
