Beware when you are aware

When you are getting more aware, more present; when you start being conscious of inner emotions and thoughts you haven't known before, sometimes you happen to feel more stressed then before rather than more free and relaxed as you were promised to be.

This is due to the mind's tendency to try to control whatever it witnesses. Before, you were not aware of these emotions and thoughts, they were not on the conscious mind's radar screen and so there was no room for control.

Now when they are on the surface, when they are accessible to the mind, the mind tries to control them, to shape them. It even tries to control the very witnessing of them including the timing of being aware of them.

At this point, it is important that you just be aware of this typical behavior of the mind. Just be aware and without condemnation. Further on - next time the mind tries to control whatever is witnessed (and he tries so instantly after the emotion or thought are entering the light of consciousness) - be aware of this behavior in real time while it happens and you will see that this behavior will be weakened.

Good and important post - this is one of the most common pitfalls that every seeker must be aware of and protect from.
