External factors

When one wills to remain asleep, no external factors can help them. And when one is ready to awaken, no external factors can stop them. It is all based on You, the nondual Self.

That seems to be the case, which makes all this spiritual work look rather odd.
Spiritual work
I see 'spiritual work' as a variation on non-spiritual work, which is really a desire to have a goal, a direction. The work is a result of this desire, thus cannot extinguish the desire. When the desire is gone, the work is over.
As I see it, you're basically 'letting yourself let go' in your own way, and if that means feeling like you worked for it, great. It won't mean anything later, though, any more than (for example) the work you did learning the alphabet in kindergarten means something now.
P.S. I don't mean to suggest that 'spiritual work' is elementary level, only that what we've done in the past is merely memory, and has only the meaning we attach to it now.
