Biography
Surya Amma was born in Israel. She got married and had a regular household life.
In 2000 she firstly embarked on a spiritual trip to India. During this trip she was drawn to the Arunachala Hill in south India and since then lived in Tiruvannamalai at the foot of the hill most of the time.
Teachings
You are the body, you are the mind, there is nothing but the mind and the body.
The self is just a phantom.
In order to be happy you must resist and reject whatever is. Always insist on trying to change your situation, never surrender, always yearn for something better.
Always compare and make sure you have more than your neighbor.
Lament your past, always plan your future, do not waste your time in being in the boring now.
Do not have trust in anything, especially not in the universe.
The truth lies in duality.
Locations
Currently, Surya Amma is reported to have gone to seclusion and does not give satsangs.
Tiruvannamalai, Tamil Nadu , India
The temple is located off the pradakshina road on the Northwest side of the Arunachala Hill.
How to get to Tiruvannamalai:
See http://www.gurusfeet.com/guru/ramana-maharshi#tabset-3
How to get to Sri Kannappa Temple:
If you walk on the external prodakshina road (the roadway), after walking about 4 KM (20-30 min) from Ramanamashram northwise, ask locals for the exact location of the temple.
If you walk the inner path of the Prodakshina road, you will encounter the temple on your way after about 3 KM (20 minutes).
See the pics here for identifying the temple.

Of course she did
Of course she realizes, this was the whole point, origionally. Plus, of course, to see how easily people can blindly follow a bogus guru...
of course
of course I know that you ( she ) realized it, I was joking. Didn't you get it?
I hope that those poor lost innocents ( unless they were just playing a reverse joke) were informed and directed to some real help.
Hmmmn
"I remember one lost soul asking her if he should stare at the sun, she replied " why not, try it..."
Hopefully, she likes lawsuits :-p.
