it is because organized religions, especially the western, have abandoned all seeds of spirituality and simply became political organizations.

And as all political organizations they are based on conflicts and hatred, in other words, war.

Again the same old story: you can be very religious, very spiritual but if down there the foundation is still the ego then there will be conflicts and wars.

That's, I think, the case with the organized religions, the sum of individual egos of the religious leaders at each religion formulates the collective religious ego of this religion and then searches for enemy religious egos to fight with in order to sustain its existence.

TRUTH OF ONE'S OWN EXISTENCE IS THE ONLY WEAPON END THIS UNREST OF THE WORLD IN THE NAME OF GOD AND RELIGION. War is caused by intense feelings of separation that have led to fear and hatred. Organized religion, in many cases, is one of the institutions that helps create the strongest sense of separateness from others, running a close second only to political organizations such as governments. Religions that teach Unity amongst all beliefs have not been found to promulgate wars, only those that teach a "we are right, you are wrong" theology, which is what fuels the "we are separate" emotions that create the fear and hatred that spark the wars.

Religion is "a belief in god" according to modern definitions, and it is that definition which is the primary cause.

The belief in god incorporates with it the belief in a devil, therefore, everything not godly has to be destroyed is the concept of modernly defined religion. Should man ever get out of the half reality they attempt to live they would see that everything has a purpose, even all of the things called evil. Once that is recognized we no longer fight against the actions but search for the purpose for them.

Should religion ever revert to its original definition, "a way of life which teaches man the purpose for existence and the comprehension of all things" wars will cease. However, for man in mass, that will never happen, therefore, it behooves you to incorporate that definition into religion and live it. To do that you will have to give up all abstract concepts like god and devil, good and evil, pretty and ugly, and any other duel concepts without a concrete base to recognize them by. Things like hot and cold, dark and light and in and out will continue to have their places because without the opposites we have no cause for reasoning as the mechanism for learning.
