Once,

people desired knowledge and as a consequence became doctors,

people desired to sing and as a byproduct became famous,

people desired to help and as a matter of course became spiritual teachers.

Nowadays,

people desire to become doctors, to become famous, to become spiritual teachers.

The difference is evasive but unfortunately enormous.

The difference is of course in terms of quality.

Speedy university degrees, American Idol, New Age.

This is the new contemporary culture. We cannot change it. We therefore have to accept it...

and to hope for the rare genuine fortunes: truly-knowledgeable people, truly-talented singers, truly-enlightened gurus...

and to remember that quality will ultimately prevail. There's no other way.

wannabe is the name of the game

Quiet true and saddening, especially in our field of spirituality with so many instant teachers, everybody is a teacher, hardly anybody wants to be a student. Ego ego ego.

This speedy urge hides in small quantity in many of us also. The point is not to fight this small quantity of "wannbe" but to observe it, not to act on it, just to inquire its sources in the ego.

To be a Spiritual Teacher Requires Being an Eternal Student!

Your statements are so true with the exception, to be a spiritual teacher requires one to be an eternal student of spirituality.

My discover, after following the teachings ascribed to Jesus, is spirit means the "intended understanding of existence" which can't be completed on this "third rock from the sun." Existence is layered and once we get the proper interpretation of this center ball, we enter the next plane for further education in that comprehension.

My experiences have shown me once anyone considers themselves a "spiritual master" they have just became deceived. Today's concept of a Spiritual Teacher carries with it an easy way to earn a living, control the thoughts of enough and they will provide you a lavish living. Wisdom does carry with it the potential of material wealth but the student-teacher know to accept it is to fall victim to deception.

Becoming Spiritual!

No person is spiritual without being a spiritual teacher!

Spirit is the intended comprehension of existence and without exchanging what you already consider as the comprehension of life, or lack of, with others you stagnate. The student grows from everyone while spiritual teachers grow from everyone and when they enter the well of comprehension to reply.

It's a two way street, giving and receiving at all times. The so called student gives by inquiry as the so called teacher gives what they have received to date. As a matter of fact, to be spiritual is to be ever attribute you have ever seen distributed among man, it requires being whole and not a human nor woman with both meaning incomplete.

Above all, being spiritual is a never ending process is one reason the buddha said becoming enlightened.
