How to destroy the ego?

It is a common question I hear, but you can not battle the ego. It is the ego (me) that would be fitting the ego.
The "myself", the "I", and the "me" are all ego. As such there is nothing "I" can do to rid "myself" of the ego (which is "I" and "myself"). It is a futile battle that will never end.
Stop fighting the ego...cease all effort. Inquire into who/what you are. Who are you? What are you? If you realize you are not thoughts - which creates the mind (and which includes the ego)...then you see the ego for the mirage it is and it is no longer a problem.
Of course, "you" can't do this in order to get rid of the "ego" - for that reinforces the ego. Inquire into who/what you are - but expect no results...have no purpose in it.

Indeed, effort which is so admired by humanity, in the spiritual path might pose a hindrance, especially beyond the first steps.
Effort, fighting, achievements, expectations - important tools of the mirage ego in maintaining its illusionary image.

THE EGO CANNOT BE DESTROYED. THE EGO IS PART AND PARCEL OF THE HUMAN EXPERIENCE. THE EGO IS THE TOOL YOU ARE USING IN THE SPIRITUAL QUEST.
WITHOUT THE EGO A PERSON AND HIS EXPERIENCE OF THE WORLD CEASE TO EXIST. EGO IS PHYSICAL IDENTITY. BUT PEOPLE MISTAKE THE PRIDE TO EGO.
IT IS NO USE OF DESTROYING THE EGO. WITHOUT UNDERSTANDING WHAT IS MIND, THE EXPERIENCE OF DUALITY WILL REMAIN AS REALITY.INQUIRE INTO THE NATURE OF THE MIND OR HUMAN EXPERIENCE, THEN YOU WILL REALIZE IT IS NO USE OF FIGHTING WITH EGO IN ORDER TO GET WISDOM.
