How deep is your love?
That's the only question you should ask.
Not wisdom, not knowledge, not truth.
That's all that counts.
And the rest will follow.
It cannot be otherwise.
I agree that love needs to be deep, but i disagree that you do not need wisdom, knowledge or truth.
We must remember that love is an emotion and thereby its very nature, irrational. We need to learn to discriminate between positive thoughts/acts of love and the negative thoughts/acts love is also capable of producing; for example, lust, jealousy, anger... to name a few.
Love is important, but it by no means is all that is required in spirituality. Like the senses, i believe we must experience love, but not let love control our experiences.
I could be wrong.
Love is not an emotion. It is the foundation, it is what you are, it is aspect of the Self.
I don't think the above poster talks about romantic love, love as a result of doing something and so on. These are indeed emotions and actually have very little to do with Love.
The original poster is right that as opposed to what most of us do, or rather are manipulated to do by our mind in terms of spirituality - chase knowledge wisdom, truth and other mind products that are "about" and not "that" - things that are an amusement for the mind - a serious aspirant should throw these knowledge, discrimination, wisdom stuff at early age and chase that which he is - love and bliss.
If we did not know the truth about our own being, or have the knowledge/wisdom to discriminate between the love that is emotion and the love that is at the root of our being, we would not be able to fully seek anything.
We first need to know the truth, we need to experience the truth, without that we are only running in random directions.
I believe if you follow the path of truth, love will find you at the finish line. But if we try and search for love, without knowing the truth about love, we will never find the real love at the core of our being.
I could be wrong. :)
Truth and Love is one and the same.
Without love truth can not be known!
Highest form of love is Truth!
Truth is "GOD"!!!
Truth is understanding of ultimate Reality.
Truth is nothing but Reflection of the True Essence.
Truth can not be known in words…it can only be experienced.
Awakening is the way to “Self Realization”.
Clarified awareness accurately reflects perceptions to the mind knowing our Eternal Relationship with the Infinite and allows knowledge of one’s essence and of Higher Realities to emerge.
Distorted awareness causes misperceptions(illusions).
“Self” indicate a person’s immortal essence(true nature),
an individualized unit of the pre-conscious aspect of ultimate Reality, which, when completely realized, directly experienced and accurately known, results in spiritual enlightenment.
Ultimate Truth is “Realization of God”
I am a seeker...what i understand with my limited knowledge i tried to explain.
Thanks for sharing my views.
You didn't answer what truth is and yet you use this word as a central theme. It's not just you, it's most of us and that is part of the problem.
Saying "Truth is understanding of ultimate Reality" is just defining one enigmatic term using another enigmatic one - you have no better idea about what "ultimate reality" is.
Saying "Truth is nothing but Reflection of the True Essence" is saying nothing as you use the same term (truth/true) in the definition.
It's the same as I ask you "what is the meaning of @%%!blabla and you will say that it is KK%**Yamba or worse - that @%%!blabla is @%%!blabla.
Truth is..."We are Immortal Being..."
"I am not the Physical Body"
May be my words are not very focused as per your expectation.
I had to use so many words to make it understand in its real sense.
What i wrote in my previous reply is all about it.
Dear, my expectations are not important nor the issue. I had no expectations.
What you wrote now are only hypothesis as you have no way to validate it more than you can validate that you are the body. The same goes with whether you are immortal or just an image created by your brain.
And so that is my point - we have to be very careful with the words we use, and especially with the word "truth" - we need to be that careful for our own benefit - otherwise we simply deceive ourselves and hence will not be able to progress spiritualy.
So true, so important to understand this and quit the desire of understanding all the rest - focus on the heart, leave aside the analysis, the desire to understand, the intellectual survey.
