The body is just your entry point to reality

We usually perceive ourselves as a body in the world and try from this perspective to "go out" into what we call "the beyond", to the soul, to let go the world and go beyond it.
This is a fundamental mistake as the point of reference and "mental movement" should be exactly on the opposite direction. We are the soul, the one beyond. The body serves us as an entry point to reality, to the world. We are not the body, it is just a remote agent, a remote-control robot, a representation, an ambassador constructed according to the rules and concepts of this world (in order to function in this world), from the materials of this world (both mental and physical), bearing the limitations of this world. Thus, being an integral entity of this world, it is capable of providing us an entry point into this domain of reality.
Consequently, an important and powerful practice is to mentally adopt this opposite correct direction of "mental movement", to look at this body as an entry point to reality and observe its functionings and whereabouts from that perspective. Then, one should inquire who is this "I" that observes the body as a remote entry point and by that to try a bit by bit to withdraw from this entry point for a while.
This is a good practice to weaken the identification with the body and to abide in the self.
